Infrastructure & built environment sustainability services
Develop sustainability strategies and policies to ensure you’re effectively communicating your objectives with key stakeholders, and driving internal action.
See how you’re performing in terms of carbon emissions, circular economy, biodiversity, natural capital and climate resilience through the development of metrics and benchmarks. We’ll either identify areas for improvement or good practice to celebrate.
Understand your carbon footprint and those of your products. With the climate crisis a constant focus, your clients and partners will be asking about these soon if they aren’t already. In fact, Accelar was part of the team that won a Construction News 2022 award for the ‘Decarbonising Precast Concrete’ project, funded by Innovate UK.
Prepare for the climate-related risks you’re exposed to through resilience risk analysis and adaptation planning. As a business, we won the Sustainability West Midlands award for ‘Adapting to Climate Change’ in 2022.
Ensure your planning applications and environmental assessments are meeting (or, better yet, exceeding) emerging policy requirements.
Organisations in these sectors recognise that doing ‘less bad’ is no longer enough. That’s why, through renewable energy, zero- or low-carbon transport and consciously designed buildings, the collective focus is now accelerating the green transition.
But the sectors themselves also need to rapidly reduce their own impacts, and prioritise sustainability if they’re to be a driving force.
This is our domain. We’ll help you evolve through policy, planning, programme/project delivery, monitoring, and evaluation.
We’ve developed many digital analytics tools and methodologies, harnessing GIS and other leading visualisation platforms to bring your data to life and spot opportunities to improve your performance.
Our work today’s been shaped by our extensive experience in this space. Before launching Accelar in 2019, our co-founders, Chris and Charlene, worked in the infrastructure and built environment sectors for decades.
Recently, our team was a key part of the TIES Living Lab programme (funded by the Department for Transport and Innovate UK). We developed cutting-edge ways to measure, benchmark and improve whole-life carbon- and environment-related outcomes resulting from the investment in transport infrastructure.
